Marshall County Sheriff Matthew Hassel announced Thursday that Benjamin McFarland of Tippecanoe was selected by the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship Committee to receive a $750.00 scholarship.
The Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship Fund was established to receive, invest, and dispense funds for providing college scholarships to qualified students who are committed to pursuing an education and career in law enforcement. In 2025, the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship Fund awarded 40 scholarships.
McFarland is a senior at Triton High School who plans to attend Purdue Fort Wayne this fall and major in criminal justice. Captain Jeff Snyder awarded Benjamin the scholarship at the Triton Scholarship Awards banquet.
