The city of St Francisville is preparing for a major state-funded project. Members of the City Council were informed Wednesday night that a pre-project meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 23rd with the engineering firm of Milano and Gruhloh at 1 p.m. They will be discussing the over $1 million lead line replacement project to be financed by the state of Illinois. That work will involve close to 90 residential meters and lead water lines. It is anticipated that the project will begin within a week after the meeting. The city will look at the potential replacement of Well #9 in the city water well field that is cracked and currently out of service. The council did approve the cost estimate of just over $7950 from Midwest Meters to obtain four hydrants to replace ones that are broken at different locations in the city. Volunteers are being solicited to join in to help with maintenence work on the Cannonball Bridge scheduled for Saturday, September 21st from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m.
