Plymouth Police investigated the report of an employee theft from the Speedway gas station at Michigan Street and Skylane Drive on Wednesday.
Officer Bridget Hite was dispatched to 2225 North Michigan Street at noon. When she arrived on the scene, she learned that the subject, Sarah Beatty, 40, of North Plum Street in Plymouth, had a warrant out of Marshall County Superior III with a bond of $150.
Beatty was an employee of Speedway and is alleged to have taken items while working at the store.
Officer Hite transported Beatty to the Marshall County Jail where she was booked on the warrant along with a new charge of theft and held on $655 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
