Seth Schmidt became the sixth person to be convicted of arson in the last three-plus years with the assistance of local law enforcement at the Greenfield Fire Territory Fire Prevention Division.

The fire was discovered in a bedroom closet. Schmidt was identified as a suspect and arrested on that date by the Greenfield Police Department Detective Unit and Hancock County Sheriff's Department
