State Senator Mike Bohacek (R-Michiana Shores) welcomed the two local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in January.
·Theodore Clingenpeel from Walkerton, is a homeschooled student
· Chase Collins, from La Porte, attends La Porte High School
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor, and interacting with their state senator.
"The Senate Page Program offers an immersive experience allowing Hoosier students to learn about state government," Bohacek said. "This is a valuable experience, especially for students like Theodore and Chase who dedicated time to make the drive down to Indianapolis to witness the legislative process."
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
