REES Theatre awarded Indiana Arts Commission grant to bring Missoula Children’s Theatre to community

The REES Theatre is proud to announce it has received a $4,000 grant from the Indiana Arts Commission to support an upcoming residency with Missoula Children’s Theatre, a nationally recognized children’s theater program dedicated to arts education and youth development.

This grant will enable the REES Theatre to host Missoula Children’s Theatre, giving local children a special chance to take part in a week-long theatrical experience that includes auditions, rehearsals, and a full public performance. Open to students in the community, the program focuses on fostering creativity, confidence, teamwork, and self-expression through the performing arts.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Indiana Arts Commission for investing in arts access for our community. This grant makes it possible for us to bring high-quality, professional children’s theater to the REES and to inspire the next generation of performers, creators, and arts supporters,” said Pat Popa, Board President.

Missoula Children’s Theatre is known for traveling across the country to work with communities of all sizes, offering professional instruction while making theater accessible and engaging for young people. The residency at the REES Theatre will culminate in a live performance open to the public, showcasing the hard work and talent of local youth.
