Marshall County Police arrested an Indianapolis man in a stolen vehicle on Thursday afternoon, May 8th, following a pursuit.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center was notified of a stolen vehicle traveling south on U.S. 31 from U.S. 6.
Marshall County officers located the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop near U.S. 31 and 16th Road. The driver failed to stop and began traveling north on U.S. 31 from State Road 10 at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the vehicle, and at one point, the suspect vehicle collided with a police vehicle. Stop sticks were successfully deployed near U.S. 31 and 13th Road. The driver came to a stop south of 11th Road on U.S. 31.
The driver, Aaron Ellis, 27, of Indy, was taken into custody without further incident. Officers also learned that Ellis had an active warrant out of Marion County for Robbery level 5 felony, and domestic battery as an A misdemeanor.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
