Plymouth Police Department officers responded to two separate domestic disturbance calls over the Independence Day holiday weekend, resulting in arrests on both occasions.
Friday evening, Plymouth Police were dispatched to a residence on Lake Avenue for a report of a physical fight. Following an investigation at the scene, Ryne England, 34, of the 1,000 block of Lake Avenue, was taken into custody on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a child and resisting law enforcement. England was transported to the Marshall County Jail without incident and held on a $2,000 cash bond.
On the Fourth of July, Plymouth Police units were dispatched to the Comfort Suites at 2513 North Michigan Street for a reported domestic disturbance. Officers determined that 30-year-old Jeffery L. Honeycutt of Monterey had been involved in a physical altercation with another individual at the hotel. Honeycutt was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail on charges of simple strangulation and domestic battery with a prior unrelated conviction. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
