Plymouth Park Recreation and Pool Director Abby Collins reported to the Park Board that she had to close the pool on August 5th instead of the 9th because the pump went out and couldn’t be fixed in time.
The Park Department hosted the annual Coca-Cola Family Fund Day on Saturday, August 23rd, from 6 to 8 p.m. in River Park Square to increase attendance. Typically, the event was on a Sunday afternoon. Collins said the Saturday event was well attended. The event featured free hot dogs, drinks, popcorn, treats, a bounce house, face painting, and live entertainment, “Giney,” an artist from Chicago who specialized in kids’ programs and interactive songs about kindness. The event also featured the Marshall County Blueberry Festival, Latino Fest 2025, and the Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County.
Collins is currently working on a Mother and Son Halloween Dance on Saturday, October 18th, and the annual downtown Trunk or Treat event in River Park Square scheduled for Saturday, October 25th.
