Plymouth’s Tri Kappa Beta Delta is pleased to announce the winners of its annual Spring Student Art Show, a stunning exhibition celebrating the creative accomplishments of Plymouth High School (PHS) artists.
This year’s “Best in Show” was awarded to senior Daisy Van Meter for her evocative oil painting of a home at dusk. Van Meter, a recent Art Department Hall of Fame inductee, also demonstrated her versatility by securing a second-place finish in the Ceramics category.
With the guidance of PHS art teachers, Laura Perkins and Haley Stegelmann, students produced an exhibit showcasing the best of the school year’s creations. The difficult task of judging fell to Jayne Jacobson, Christa Risher, and Tony Straw of Heartland Artists, who evaluated numerous entries across seven distinct categories. Tri Kappa representatives also recognized four additional artists for their excellence, and the students presented several of their peers with special Student Choice awards.
All award winners will receive certificates, ribbons, and monetary prizes provided by the Beta Delta chapter. The community is invited to view the collection, which is currently on display in the Door 5 corridor near the PHS auditorium and will remain open to the public through Friday, May 15.
