An officer with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Peru man last Saturday after the county Dispatch Center received report of a possibly impaired driver who was northbound on U.S. 31.
At approximately 4:30 May 5th Deputy Truty located the suspect vehicle near 11th Road and initiated a traffic stop. During his investigation evidence of narcotics was discovered.
Matthew D Mathis, 44, of Peru was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a narcotic drug and issued a $3,000 cash bond.
