A Marshall teenager found herself locked up in the Parke County Jail and facing a felony charge after a Department of Child Services investigation revealed she bit a toddler.
According to Parke County Sheriff Jason Frazier, deputies were contacted Monday evening to assist with a DCS investigation in Marshall. During the investigation, it was discovered that 19-year-old Madalynn Ryan, of Marshall, bit a 3-year-old on the arm.
While the details of what led up to the bite were not released, Ryan was arrested and charged with a Level 6 felony count of domestic battery on a victim under 16. She was transported to the Parke County Jail, where she was initially held with no bond prior to an initial hearing Tuesday afternoon.
According to court documents, Ryan has retained a Terre Haute attorney and posted a $500 cash bond Tuesday.
