Firefighters from the Plymouth Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on U.S. 30, east of Pioneer Drive, on Sunday evening, January 12th, at 5:30.
Fire Chief Steve Holm said an eastbound semi-trailer was hauling auto parts when a fire started in the tractor. The driver was able to get out of the truck without any injuries.
The cargo in the trailer wasn’t damaged in the fire. The tractor was a total loss.
For a short period, the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 were rerouted using Pioneer Drive and Jim Neu Drive as firefighters battled the blaze and cleaned up the debris.
The Plymouth Fire Department reported no injuries.
