A 61-year-old man from Michigan City was taken into custody Friday evening after a battery incident at a popular Plymouth campground left one person injured and in need of hospital care.
At approximately 6:33 p.m. on July 3, Marshall County Dispatch received a report of a male who had been battered and was bleeding at 7719 Redwood Road — the Jellystone Campground in Plymouth. Marshall County Sheriff's deputies and Plymouth Fire/EMS responded to the scene.
During the investigation, deputies determined that a battery had occurred. John M. Baranski, 61, was placed into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where his bond was set at $500 and he bonded out Saturday morning at 2:40.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the incident.
Baranski faces a charge of battery.
Readers are reminded that criminal charges are merely allegations. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
