A Clinton man is behind bars on charges of dealing over 10 grams of methamphetamine following a recent traffic stop.
According to Parke County Sheriff Jason Frazier, deputies located illegal drugs after stopping a vehicle driven by Brandon Sanquenetti, 41, Clinton. Deputies initially stopped Sanquenetti for speeding after observing him driving 84 mph in a 55 mph zone.
During the stop, a K9 officer was requested, and upon arrival, K9 Thor gave a positive alert on the vehicle for the presence of illegal drugs, according to Frazier.
Deputies located a large amount of money, but there were no drugs in the vehicle. Despite that, officers transported Sanquenetti to jail.
While conducting the investigation, deputies believed Sanquenetti was holding illegal drugs on his person.
The suspicions would prove correct, according to a release.
"Deputies located methampethamine and ecstasy hidden on Brandon's person," officials said.
According to court records, Sanquenetti was charged with a Level 3 felony of dealing methamphetamine over 10 grams, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a schedule I controlled substance.
Sanquenetti is currently held on a $50,000 bond with no 10 percent option. He is slated to appear back in court on Dec. 3.
