The Marshall County Commissioners approved the advertisement for the Shady Rest farm ground lease at their meeting Monday, inviting bids for a three-year lease of approximately 129 acres of County Farm ground located east of Plymouth.
The lease will run from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029. The agreement will provide for two lease payments per year, due May 1 and November 1 of each year.
Bids are to be submitted on a per-acre basis. The County retains the option to make less acreage available, in which case per-acre rates will apply to the actual tillable land.
Sealed bids must be submitted to the Marshall County Auditor's Office by 4 p.m. on October 30. Bids will be opened at 8:30 a.m. on November 2 during the Board of County Commissioners meeting.
Questions about the lease or bidding process should be directed to the Marshall County Auditor, 112 W. Jefferson Street, Room 205, Plymouth, IN 46563, or by phone at 574-935-8555.
