Lawrence County States Attorney Brady Waldrop reports that two local residents were given prison terms during appearances this week in Lawrence County Circuit Court.
Both 34 year old Derek Brown and 22 year old Kyley Benton are from Lawrenceville and were each charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Illinois felony.
Brown was sentenced to 4 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) followed by 6 months of mandatory supervised release and Benton was handed 2 1/2 years in the IDOC to be followed by 6 months of mandatory supervised release.
