Truck drivers in Knox County (Indiana) will be ticketed if they do not follow approved detour routes around the Indiana State Road 67 road closure near the town of Bruceville.
The Knox County Sheriff's Department (KCSD) issued that warning after several semi-trucks were bypassing the detour and instead traveling on local county roads not intended to handle such heavy loads.
Deputies recently stopped a large truck on Old Bruceville Road after it bypassed posted closure and truck weight restriction signs and issued a citation. Truck traffic avoiding the detour has been a problem and authorities say additional patrols looking for violators will be implemented.
