A current employee of a Fulton County court has received permission to go ahead with the on-the-job post while also advancing education at law school.

Fulton County Commissioner Rick Ranstead explains the request that came before commissioners recently from Circuit Court Judge Christopher Lee.

In other commissioners news, Fulton County Sheriff Travis Heishman explained the ever-rising cost of his department buying drugs as part of their ongoing illegal narcotics investigations.

With that, he received permission from commissioners for $10,000 and will further the request by presenting to the Fulton County Council.

The county commissioner also noted the county and its departments are busy preparing budgets for 2027.

In a final note, the effort continues for courthouse improvements including windows and a new roof. The county has tried for a grant related to the roof but has yet to hear back on that.
