In anticipation of extensive rainfall over the region, the National Weather Service (MWS) has issued a Flood Warning for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville.
It will be from Thursday, April 3rd through Tuesday, April 8th.
The NWS says that the river is currently well below it's 30 foot flood stage now, but with an expected influx of up to 5 inches of rain between now and Sunday, the river is expected to rise rapidly.
The forecast has the river rising above flood stage late Thursday and cresting at about 33.5 feet this weekend.
It is then anticipated to fall below flood Tuesday.
