The curtain is about to fall on the First Friday season, as the final one of the season is slated for downtown Greencastle on Friday, Oct. 2.
The event brings live music, local businesses, vendors, food and community together from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in a free setting that is family friendly.
Beginning at 7 p.m., the Mike Rolle Band will hit the Courthouse/Almost Home Stage, while Mona & Powerhouse will perform outside Moore's Bar and Grill and Judy Lui will play at 7 p.m., followed by Alex Poisal at 8 p.m. on the Lost Hollow Stage.
"First Friday has become a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together. It is a chance to support local businesses, discover local organizations and vendors, enjoy live music and simply spend time together downtown. We're excited to close out the regular season with one more great night," said Greencastle MainStreet board member and Ruoff Mortgage-Greencastle Vice President/Branch Manager Ashley Mattox.
This Friday's event will also feature Putt Putnam, a mini-golf event hosted by Castlemakers—Greencastle's Makerspace that brings the community together.
Kate Knaul, executive director of MainStreet Greencastle, said the golf event is a great example of creativity and collaboration.
"We love being able to have this creative community project as part of our regular October First Friday event, and we're excited to see what Castlemakers and the community have created for its 11th year," Knaul said.
Additionally, Prime Real Estate will host a pumpkin giveaway, and the Putnam County Antique Tractor and Machinery Association will display antique tractors.
And, while this is the final First Friday, there are several other events right around the corner such as: Trick or Treat on the Square, Small Business Saturday, Shop Small Week and Frosty Friday, featuring winter lights and the holiday parade.
