Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel released the February Jail and Sheriff’s Report.

The Top Ten Reasons individuals were booked into the Marshall County Jail were #10 Contempt of Court (4); #9 Probation Violation (6); #8 Theft (8); #7 Operating While Intoxicated (10); #6 Possession of Methamphetamine (14); #5 Possession of Paraphernalia (16); #4 Driving While Suspended (17); #3 Operator Never Licensed (18); #2 Possession of Marijuana (18) and the #1 reason people were lodged in the Jail in February was Failure to Appear (24).

There was a total of 128 bookings in February. Of those bookings Bourbon Police made 2, Bremen Police had 4, the Indiana State Police made 19 arrests, Plymouth Police had 20, Marshall County Community Corrections made 2 arrests and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department had 81 arrests.

On March 2nd the population of the jail was 121. Of those inmates, 2 were serving time on Civil charges, 1 inmate was serving time for a Misdemeanor, 26 with Felony charges, 29 were sentenced inmates, 81 were pre-trail inmates, 9 awaiting arraignment, and 2 were held for another agency. Of the 121 inmates, 97 were males, and 24 were females.

The average daily population in February was 116. Six months ago in August, the population was 145.7 and one year ago the average population was 165.1.

There are currently 1,317 active warrants in Marshall County.

County officers investigated 49 accidents in February. 45 were property damage accidents and 4 were personal injury. County officers completed 69 case reports, conducted 47 security checks, and issued 86 warnings and or citations.

The 911 Central Dispatch Center answered 2,216 administrative calls and 1,119 911 calls, of which 99.28% were answered in 10 seconds or less.
