Tuesday evening, Culver Town Manager Kevin Dante told members of the Town Council that Culver received $1,011,810.75 in Community Crossing Matching Grant Funds.
The community crossing funds will be allocated to widen North Lake Shore Drive between the intersection of State Road 10 and State Road 17 going south to Academy Road. The project also encompasses a stormwater initiative and curbing.
Launched in 2016, the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program provides funding to cities, towns, and counties throughout Indiana to enhance local roads and bridges.
Cities and towns with fewer than 10,000 receiving grant funds must provide a 25% match. The local match for Culver’s Community Crossing Matching Grant is $337,270.25.
