Plymouth Police arrested a man making threats to kill people at the Economy Inn.
Just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Plymouth Police were dispatched to the Economy Inn for a male subject threatening to kill people.
City Officers encountered 36-year-old Israel Negrete, who lives at the motel. He was squatting down on a second-floor balcony, showing signs of drug use with involuntary movement and statements that were not making sense. Negrete could not answer questions appropriately and continuously talked unprovoked about fictional things.
Officers took him into custody and, during a search of his person, located a glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine. He was transported to the Plymouth hospital for medical clearance and then to the Marshall County Jail.
Israel Negrete was booked in for possession of methamphetamine as a level 6 felony, possession of paraphernalia as a class C misdemeanor, and public intoxication by drugs as a class B misdemeanor. He was issued a court date and a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
