The board also approved closing Broadway Street from Tompkins Street to Miller Street during the same hours to facilitate safe trick or treating in the area that is routinely one of the busiest areas in the city.

At the Tuesday morning meeting at City Hall, Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Director Trisha Tackett also reminded the board that its “Trunk or Treat” event will be in downtown Shelbyville on Oct. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
