Marshall County Police were dispatched to the Gatewood Mobile Home Park in LaPaz twice Wednesday evening July 17th. The second call resulted in the arrest of two individuals.
The second call was around 10:32 pm, and Marshall County Deputies were called back to Gatewood Mobile Home Park for a disturbance involving the same males in a verbal argument earlier.
26-year-old Armando Castillo from South Bend was arrested for battery to the other male. During his arrest, Mr. Castillo resisted law enforcement and was intoxicated, and he also had a warrant out of Marshall County for failure to appear. Castillo is being held on a $750 cash bond in the Marshall County Jail.

A female identified as 26-year-old Alexis Barger of Walkerton gave officers false information about Mr. Castillo, due to him having a warrant. She was arrested for assisting a criminal and booked into the Marshall County Jail on a $500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
