Shelbyville boys golf missed the state finals cut by two strokes.
The Golden Bears finished fourth at the Providence Regional Thursday at Champions Pointe Golf Course in Henryville behind Center Grove (291), Floyd Central (305) and Madison (313). Shelbyville’s 315 tied with Corydon Central.
Brock Wischmeyer posted an even-par 72 to earn an individual spot in the IHSAA’s 87th Annual Boys Golf State Finals beginning Tuesday at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.
Greenwood Christian’s Noah Reed (69) and Providence’s Blaine Beckort (71) also advanced out of the regional.

Shelbyville’s Logan Tobian had four birdies on the back nine for a 3-under par 33 but his 18-hole score of 73 just missed the state finals cut.
Also playing for Shelbyville Thursday were Jake Garrison (83), Damiles McDuffey (87) and Logan Reinhart (93).
McDuffey was the only senior on Shelbyville’s scorecard Thursday.
