Waldron freshman Caige Sheaffer hit a 30-foot three-pointer just before the final horn Friday to send the Mid-Hoosier Conference game with South Decatur to overtime.
Once there, the Mohawks outscored the Cougars 14-8 to earn a 59-53 win on Senior Night.
Ethan Moody was scoreless in the first quarter but finished with a team-high 25 points for Waldron (12-7, 3-3 MHC). Eli Stewart had 14, including six in the overtime period.
Sheaffer’s late 3 got him to nine points.
Drake Scaggs matched Moody with 25 points for South Decatur (12-5, 3-3). Karson Templeton finished with 13 points.
Waldron’s final three games of the regular season are on the road. The Mohawks are at Milan (9-8) Tuesday.
Triton Central 53, Greensburg 30
At Triton Central Friday, the host Tigers held the Pirates to less than 10 points in all four quarters to improve to 16-3 this season.
Triton Central senior Eli Sego nearly outscored Greensburg with a 27-point performance. He now has 1,515 career points and is within 38 of tying Wyatt Felling’s career scoring record of 1,553 points.
Sego hit four 3s, all in the opening half as Class 2A, No. 8 Triton Central opened up a 26-14 lead. He finished 7 of 8 from the free-throw line in the second half to help secure the victory.
Jackson Faust and Henry Kemper each scored nine points.
Jacoby Miller led Greensburg (8-11) with 12 points.
Triton Central continues its quest for the inaugural Hoosier Legends Conference title Tuesday at Monrovia (11-7, 2-2 HLC). The Tigers are 2-0 against HLC foes.
Morristown 71, Southwestern 34
At Southwestern Friday, Morristown used a 29-point second quarter to pull away from the Spartans and secure the Mid-Hoosier Conference victory.
Brayden Anderson hit four 3s and finished with a game-high 18 points for Morristown (14-5, 4-2 MHC). Kellen Crim had 14 and Owen Rinzel and Dalton McMichael each had nine.
Jay Utley led Southwestern (4-12, 0-5 MHC) with 15 points.
The Spartans host Knightstown (7-8) Tuesday.
Morristown 64, Medora 50
At Medora Saturday, the visiting Yellow Jackets built a 36-23 lead at halftime then outscored the Hornets 22-13 in the third quarter to take a 22-point lead into the fourth.
Kellen Crim led Morristown (15-5) with 20 points. Brayden Anderson finished with 17 points and Owen Rinzel had 13.
Kade Wright led Medora (10-9) with 17 points.
The Yellow Jackets host Muncie Central (7-10) Friday.
