South Decatur built an 11-2 lead and held off Morristown for an 18-10 Mid-Hoosier Conference baseball victory Thursday.
Corbin Johnson had four hits and three runs scored for South Decatur (5-6, 4-4 MHC). Grady Scudder finished with three hits and four RBI.
Scudder pitched six innings to earn the win. Johnson pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
Morristown dropped to 3-10 (2-5 MHC).
The result was the same on the softball diamond. The Cougars racked up 11 runs in the first three innings to earn a 13-9 MHC victory.
Daisy Martin finished with four hits, three runs and four RBI. Lydia Witkemper also had three hits and four RBI.
Riley Benge went the distance, allowing 11 hits and striking out four for South Decatur (5-6, 3-2 MHC).
Nevaeh Cox had two hits and three RBI for Morristown (4-7, 1-4 MHC).
