Prep Report: Class 2A, No. 6 Tigers defeat Greenwood Christian

Six different Tigers scored in the first quarter Saturday afternoon to get Class 2A, No. 6 Triton Central an early 15-10 lead. The Tigers kept extending the lead from there to secure a 56-39 victory over Greenwood Christian Academy.

Eli Sego finished with a game-high 24 points. Brody Hartman sank three three-pointers and scored 16 points.

Ky Baker led Greenwood Christian (5-13) with 19 points.

The Tigers (14-3, 1-0 Hoosier Legends Conference) are the only HLC team without a conference loss. They host Indian Creek (3-12, 0-2 HLC) Tuesday in Fairland.

Waldron 51, Tri 40

At Waldron, the host Mohawks built a 27-17 lead by halftime but allowed the Titans to cut the deficit to three after the third quarter.

Caige Sheaffer and Eli Stewart shot down the comeback attempt by combining to score 14 points in the fourth to defeat a potential sectional opponent. Stewart finished with a game-high 20 points. Sheaffer had 16.

Braiden Jackson led Tri (11-6) with 13 points.

Waldron (10-7) is at Mooresville Christian (6-9) Tuesday.

Morristown 53, Eminence 20

At Eminence, the visiting Yellow Jackets held the Eels scoreless in the third quarter and put the running clock in effect.

Kellen Crim scored 10 of his game-high 18 points in the second quarter to help Morristown (12-5) open a 32-10 halftime advantage. Brayden Anderson finished with eight points. Nine different players scored in the win.

Keon Gregory led Eminence (11-5) with six points.

Morristown hosts future Mid-Hoosier Conference foe Brown County (4-12) Tuesday. The Eagles will join the MHC in the fall.
