A two-time Indiana state wrestling champion has been hired to lead an area program.
Mitch Napier has been named the new head coach at Cascade.
Napier was a two-time state champ at Monrovia. From 2000 – 2005 he established himself as one of the top wrestlers in University of Indianapolis history. Napier was an All-American in 2002 and 2003, He became one of only two wrestlers in program history to qualify for the NCAA National Championships four times. Napier ranks among the UIndy leaders in multiple categories including season wins, career wins, freshman wins, career pins and freshman pins. He finished his collegiate career with 114 wins and 30 career pins. He was also recognized as an Academic All-American.
Napier has been actively involved with the Cascade Youth Wrestling League and has served as a volunteer coach with Cascade’s high school wrestling program.
