The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors has approved revised classification cutoffs in multiple sports that will go into effect for the 2027-2028 school year.
The Board Classification Policy recently approved had called for all cutoffs to be rounded to the nearest 50th or 100th numeral. A slight modification was made by the Board to allow them the ability to set cutoffs to the 25th numeral.
Here are the new classification cutoffs for basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball that will be in effect for 2027-2028.

Class 2A: 275 to 600 students
