Morristown advanced five track and field athletes out of the Connersville Sectional Thursday. Three more from Triton Central and Waldron qualified for the Plainfield Regional.
The top three performers advanced out of sectional events Thursday. All those advance to regional events on May 28.

Morristown’s Colston Allford (photo) was the only Shelby County athlete to be crowned a sectional champion. Allford won the high jump competition with a clearance of six feet, two inches.
Morristown opened the track portion of the sectional with a runner-up performance in the 3,200 relay. Ryan Crisman, Lexi Singh, Thane Cole and Brayden Anderson (main photo) finished in eight minutes, 42.09 seconds.
Singh (main photo, second from left) returned to the track and finished third in the 800 (2:07.51) to advance to the regional in a second event.
Morristown’s Arik Trattner finished fourth in the 200 (23.51).
The Yellow Jackets will make the short trip north to Greenfield-Central on May 28 for regional competition.
At the Whiteland Sectional Thursday, Triton Central’s Braden Brown placed third in the 100 (11.23) and Tevian Faulkner matched that in the 110 hurdles (15.67).

Several other athletes just missed the regional cut.
For Shelbyville, Shia Veach placed fifth in the 3,200 (10:05.01), Joaquin Delgado finished fifth in the 110 hurdles (16.15) and fourth in the 300 hurdles (45.18), and Ethan Griffin finished fifth in the shot put (44-7.5) and sixth in the discus (142-10).
Waldron’s Caige Sheaffer tied for fourth in the high jump (5-10).
Triton Central’s 400 relay team finished fourth.
