Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza helped give Indiana a 24-14 lead when he went airborne on a 12-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-4 with 9:18 to play. Indiana’s other TDs came on a 1-yard run by Riley Nowakowski in the second quarter and a fumble recovery in the end zone by Isaiah Jones after a blocked punt in the third quarter. Nico Radicic also kicked two field goals. Indiana finished 16-0 – 50 years after the Indiana men’s basketball team went 32-0 to win it all. “Let me tell you … we won the national championship at Indiana University!” Cignetti said on the field after the game. “It can be done. I’m so happy for our fans. Words can’t describe it.”
- "Bobbleheads are the ultimate way to celebrate a team’s championship, and these bobbleheads will be the ultimate way for Hoosier fans to commemorate the Indiana football team’s 2025 CFP national championship,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “We’re excited to be unveiling this National Champions Bobblehead Collection celebrating Indiana’s first football national title.
