The Red Hill Salukis scored 11 runs in the top of the 6th inning Thursday night to erase a three-run deficit and went on to beat the Lawrenceville Indians 15-10 and spoil Senior Night at Unit 20 Ballpark in Lawrenceville.
The Salukis led 3-0 before the host Indians put up 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th to take a 6-3 lead. But Red Hill responded with the big inning to take control of the contest. The underdog Indians did add 2 runs in the 6th and 2 in the bottom of the 7th and had a rally going before the game ended.
The Salukis scored 15 runs on 9 hits and made 4 errors while the Tribe managed their 10 runs on 6 hits and made only 1 error. Brody Wattles and Keegan Liston each had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Avery Arbuckle a hit and 2 RBI and Mitchell Ochs a three-run homer to pace the Saluki offense.
The Indians honored two seniors, Emery Ivers and Hunter Gray prior to the contest and each had 2 hits with Ivers homering and Ethan Metz also had 2 hits and 3 RBI in the game.
Carter Davis picked up the win in relief for the Salukis, who have won 2 in a row and are 13-9 on the season. Teegan Rolland took the loss in relief for the Indians, who have lost 11 in a row to fall to 2-16 on the season.
The Salukis return to action Monday at home against Mt. Carmel while the Indians are idle until playing at South Knox on Wednesday.
