It was a successful beginning to the 2024 season Monday for the Lawrenceville Baseball Indians. They got solid starting pitching from Emery Ivers and beat Dieterich 5-3 at Dieterich. The Indians scored five runs on 9 hits and committed 2 errors while the Maroons were held to 3 runs on only 2 hits and made 4 errors. Ivers went 6 and 1/3 innings and allowed 3 runs on 2 hits while striking out 7 and walking 1. He also helped his cause with 2 hits. Landon Sanders went 2/3 inning to pick up the save and also had 2 hits. Noah Wilson added 3 hits on the day. The Indians are 1-0 and will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Bridgeport to meet the Red Hill Salukis in an early season Lawrence County baseball battle. Game time at the Tank Farm is 4 p.m.
