Tom W. Christiansen, 90, of Plymouth

Tom W. Christiansen, 90, of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at St. Joseph Health System-Mishawaka.

Tom was born on June 25, 1935, in Etna Green, IN, to the late Paul and Anna (Hansen) Christiansen.

Tom graduated from Plymouth High School, where he participated in both football and track. Tom spent his entire career working for Nipsco, first as a lineman and later as a gas serviceman. He started at Nipsco when he was just 17 and worked there for 40 years before retiring.

On November 16, 1958, he married the love of his life, Sondra Kepler, in Napoleon, Ohio, sharing the last 67 years dedicated to each other. The two were faithful members of Calvary Lutheran Church in Plymouth.

Tom loved his family, church, and sports. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed golf as well. He was a fan of Plymouth High School athletics and attended as many games as possible.

Tom was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses: Henry and Evelyn Christiansen, Paul and Maxine Christiansen, Agnes and Bud Martin and his younger brother John Christiansen. He was also preceded in death by his loving daughter Brenda Birchmeier.

Tom’s memory will live on with his wife Sondra and children Matt Christiansen and Victoria (Mark) Staples as well as his grandchildren, Brandon Birchmeier, Derek Birchmeier, Evan Birchmeier, Tyler (Shauna) Staples and Kylie Staples and several great grandchildren.

Visitation for Tom will be from 4pm-7pm on Monday February 16, 2026, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Plymouth Chapel, 300 W. Madison St Plymouth. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday February 17, 2026, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1314 N. Michigan St. He will be interred following the funeral at New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom’s name may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, 1314 N. Michigan St, Plymouth, IN 46563.
