Hazel Blanche (Henderson) Henderson, age 97, of Plymouth, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, in the same community where she was born on September 10, 1928. She lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, her work, and the simple joys that brought her happiness each day.

Hazel was born in Plymouth to the late Orval “Pug” Henderson and the late Iris (Woodfill) Henderson. She grew up in Plymouth and graduated from West High School with the class of 1945. Following high school, she attended beauty school in Knox, beginning a lifelong career that would become both her calling and her gift to others.

On October 31, 1948, Hazel married the love of her life, William John Henderson, at EUB Church in Plymouth. Their marriage was a lasting partnership filled with love, commitment, and shared memories until William’s passing on August 26, 2021. Together, they built a family and a home centered on care, hard work, and faithfulness to one another.

Hazel devoted more than 55 years to her work as a beautician and cosmetologist, operating a shop in her home. Through her skill, kindness, and warm personality, she touched the lives of many in her community. Her home shop was more than a place of business. It was a place where friendships were formed, conversations were shared, and people always felt welcome.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Jeff) Lawton; her sons, Duane (Vicky) Henderson and Kevin Henderson; and her grandchildren, Don (Christi) Zehner, Lisa (Rich) Cabral, Jeremy (Nickki) Lesher, Jennifer Henderson, Eric (Ashley) Henderson, and Dan (Bri) Henderson. She was blessed with 14 loving great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her great pride and joy. Hazel was  preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Harold Henderson.

Hazel had many interests that reflected her gentle and appreciative spirit. She loved to go clothes shopping and enjoyed the beauty of hummingbirds. She found comfort and enjoyment in watching programs such as The Lawrence Welk Show and the Bill and Gloria Gaither Show. She loved nature and took pleasure in the world around her, but above all else, she treasured time spent with her family. Those moments were the heart of her life and the source of her greatest happiness.

Hazel will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and faithful friend. Her life was one of dedication, grace, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
