Elmer Richard Byers, 92, of Kokomo, passed away on June 30, 2025. He was born on December 21, 1932 in Kokomo, Indiana the son of William E. and Wilhelmina (Phipps) Byers. He married Kathleen Byers who survives.
Elmer loved reading his Bible and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church before becoming a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 72 years, Kathy; daughter, Myra McCain; sister, Opal Hartman; and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Teresa Shelton, Melody Spaulding, Pamela Frakes, Penny Byers, Candy Seigal and Nancy Pyke; siblings, Ruby Bush, Myrtle Hartman, Anna Bragg and William Byers.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer 705 E. Southway Blvd, Kokomo, Indiana 46902.
Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
