Donna J. Renie, 85, Rochester, and formerly of Kokomo, passed away at 7:45 P.M. on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Waterford Place Health Campus, Kokomo, Indiana.
She was born on December 26, 1940 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of H.J. “Jim” and Jean G. (Falvey) Childs. After high school, Donna graduated from Indiana University with a degree in education and had been a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. On June 13, 1964, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Tipton, Indiana, she married Timothy Renie and he survives.
Donna’s professional career started as an English Teacher for Kokomo High School and later spent twenty years as membership director for the Kokomo Y.M.C.A. While in Kokomo she was a member of the P.E.O. Sorority.
In 2006, Donna and Tim moved into their lake home at Rochester, Indiana. She was a member of St. Jospeh Catholic Church and Tri Kappa Sorority. She spent much of her life in the bleachers cheering on her children and grandchildren at swim meets, baseball games and other athletic events.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Renie, Rochester, Indiana, sons. Andy (Theresa) Renie, Indianapolis, Indiana, Jeff (Darlene) Renie, Lafayette, Indiana, Kevin Renie and companion Jennifer Yeo, Rochester, Indiana, Steve (Whitney) Renie, Lafayette, Indiana, grandchildren, Taylor Renie, Indianapolis, Indiana, Amber Renie, Indianapolis, Indiana, Jessie Renie, Jake Renie, and Josh Renie, all of Lafayette, Indiana, Reece Renie, Rochester, Indiana, Davis Renie, Rochester, Indiana, Will Renie, Lafayette, Indiana, Charlie Renie, Lafayette, Indiana, four great grandchildren, siblings, James (Pat) Childs, Galien, Michigan, Donald (Connie) Childs, Phoenix, Arizona, Kathy (Mike) Renie, Rochester, Indiana, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass in her memory will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 28, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, Indiana.
Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
