Two teens arrested after trespassing at River Park Square

Two 19-year-old men were arrested Sunday evening after police found them at River Park Square, despite both having been previously banned from all city parks.

At approximately 6:02 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, officers from the Plymouth Police Department received a tip regarding two individuals at the park who had active trespass warnings. When Officer Fisher arrived at the scene, he observed the two men sitting at the park's picnic tables. Upon seeing the officer, the suspects attempted to walk away but were quickly stopped.

One of the individuals was identified as 19-year-old Christopher Mason of Lincoln Highway in Plymouth. According to the police report, Mason admitted to the officer that he knew he was not allowed to be on the park premises. During a subsequent pat-down search, the officer located a tobacco vape on Mason's person.

Mason was placed under arrest and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of criminal trespass. He was also issued a citation for possession of a vape by a minor under the age of 21.

Officer Fisher then made contact with the second individual, identified as 19-year-old Cameron Martin Hudson of Weidner Avenue in Argos. Police confirmed that Hudson had also been formally trespassed from all Plymouth parks. During the encounter, officers found Hudson to be in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a charge of possession of paraphernalia.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. Suspects are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
