Corporal Schieber with the Plymouth Police Department stopped a vehicle at Michigan and North Streets for an early morning equipment violation and arrested the driver for operating without obtaining a driver’s license.
On Thursday morning, May 16th, just after 4 am the Plymouth city officer initiated the traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 37-year-old Elbin Colindres-Hernandez from West Harrison Street in Plymouth.
Colindres-Hernandez was determined to have never obtained a driver's license and was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in at 4:42 a.m. His cash bond was paid at 5:12 a.m. and he was released on bond and given a court date.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
