Three sign Promise to Appear during county police stop

Three individuals signed Promises to Appear after a deputy with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on Sunday, March 17th just after midnight.

While on normal patrol Marshall County Deputy Tim Hubbard noticed a vehicle passing in a no-passing zone and driving above the posted speed limit on King Road approaching Plymouth/Goshen Trail.

A traffic stop was initiated and after talking with the driver the deputy could smell a strong odor coming from the vehicle. After some investigation, it was found that all 3 occupants of the vehicle had marijuana in their possession.

All 3 occupants were issued an Information and Summons to appear in court. They included 23-year-old Dawson Santos, 21-year-old Jonathan Jones, and 27-year-old Kendrick Kesler.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
