A teenager faces charges related to a planned school shooting scheduled for this spring at Morristown Jr./Sr. High School
Alexis Pickett, 17, being held on $1 million bond in a case that is being waived to adult court and remains under investigation with further arrests possible.
Pickett's charges include attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and intimidation for planning the attack that was scheduled for May 25.
Shelby County Prosecutor Brad Landwerlen said Pickett's parents made a very tough decision to reach out to law enforcement with concerns she was going to hurt herself or someone else. Pickett reportedly told detectives of her obsession with school shootings and she felt she related to Columbine shooter Eric Harris.
Further arrest possibilities include the person known as "Nathan" that Pickett appeared to have formed attack plans with in messaging through various apps. Pickett sent pictures and video to this person who lives in Mississippi to aid his planning of the attack.
Landwerlen says they are working with law enforcement in various jurisdictions and the FBI as the investigation continues.
