The Better Business Bureau® Serving Central Indiana (BBB) announced the 2025 Torch Awards for Ethics recipients.
The Torch Awards embody BBB’s mission of advancing marketplace trust and honor organizations whose leaders focus on the four C’s:
• Character of the organization’s leadership
• Fostering an authentic Culture
• Transparent relationships with Customers
• Impacting the local Community
“Each year, we have the privilege of recognizing businesses that lead with integrity and elevate trust across our marketplace,” said Cathy Armour, President & CEO of BBB Central Indiana. “This year’s recipients demonstrate that ethical leadership, customer care and community commitment are not just values—they’re daily practices that drive results and strengthen the entire business community.”
An independent panel of judges named the following BBB Accredited Businesses as BBB’s 2025 Torch Awards recipients:
Summers of Kokomo, Inc.
Commitment to Customers
At Summers of Kokomo, customer relationships are nurtured with as much care as technical expertise. The plumbing, heating and cooling company has served families since 1969 and built its reputation on honesty, reliability and respect. Summers’ transparent processes include printed summaries of services and warranties, on-site walkthroughs and follow-ups to confirm satisfaction.
As Director of Operations Austin McQuiston observes, “Sometimes serving customers means doing more than the job—it means caring for the person behind the problem.”
When a new mother faced a plumbing repair shortly after bringing her baby home, the Summers team not only completed the work but also provided a grocery gift card as an extra measure of care. The gesture illustrated Summers’ belief that every customer is a person first, never just a transaction.
