Construction on South Market Street in Rockville has officially been completed, and the road is now open. The year-long project, overseen by the Rockville Town Council and executed by American Structure Point and Feutz Contractors, faced several challenges but was ultimately a success.
Local businesses around the square and residents along Market Street were praised for their patience throughout the construction process. While the road is open, a brief closure will occur on Tuesday, October 8th, as final striping is completed following a minor equipment issue.
The reopening comes at a crucial time for Rockville, as thousands of visitors are expected to flock to the area for the annual Covered Bridge Festival, which showcases the county’s historic bridges and draws tourism to local shops and restaurants.
