A South Bend man was arrested Wednesday evening after police say he stole a cell phone from a Plymouth Taco Bell bathroom.
On Wednesday, September 29th, at 8:09 p.m., Plymouth Police were dispatched to the Taco Bell at 1827 North Michigan Street for a report of theft. Officer Fisher spoke with a Taco Bell employee who reported he had left his cell phone in the bathroom, and when he returned to retrieve it, the phone was missing.
During the investigation, Officer Fisher obtained a photograph of the male believed to have taken the phone and subsequently tracked the phone's location to Lady Bug Laundry. The officer located the man inside the business and identified him as 57-year-old Shaun Cory of South Bend.
Cory told the officer that he had placed the phone inside a trash can in the bathroom and wrapped it in paper towels, saying he intended to return the phone.
Cory was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail with a $500 cash bond and charged with theft.
