Schultz arrested by city police, nearly 3 times legal limit for alcohol

Monday morning, July 8th at 1:20 officers from the Plymouth Police Department were dispatched to Red-D-Mart at Michigan and Jefferson Streets after it was reported a male was yelling and hitting vehicles at the gas station.

Before police arrived on the scene the suspect was reported to have left the scene, traveling east on Jefferson Street. Corporal Schieber located the vehicle as it turned south onto Liberty Street and a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was identified as 30-year-old Matthew Schultz of Lincoln Street in Plymouth. Schultz was determined to be intoxicated and nearly 3 times over the legal limit. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. Pending criminal charges for Matthew Schultz are operating a vehicle while intoxicated-over .15 and operating while intoxicated-endangering.
