A Rochester man was arrested on Wednesday after he fled from law enforcement.
A Marshall County deputy tried to stop a motorcycle without a license plate, and the driver then fled from police. A short time later he was taken into custody.
While the deputy was talking with the driver, 37-year-old John David Hall of Rochester, he informed him that he had a license status of Habitual Traffic Violator.
Hall was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail at 10:30 p.m. He was booked in for habitual traffic violator and resisting law enforcement and held on a $1,500 cash bond until Thursday at 1:30p.m., when his bond was posted and he was released.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
