A Richland County woman was killed after being involved in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday on U.S. 50 just east of Noble.
Illinois State Police (ISP) Troop 9 based out of Effingham reports that a SUV being driven by 60-year-old Kimberly Black of Noble was traveling west on 50 when she crossed the centerline and ran head-on into an eastbound semi-truck being driven by a 31-year-old unidentified male subject from Swansea, Illinois. Black was pronounced dead at the accident scene while the truckdriver was taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries. U.S. 50 was closed down for a period of time to allow for the investigation to take place and the wreckage to be cleared.
